An exploration of Love and Relationship through a Sufi folktale.
Join us in Italy to go on a journey exploring love. We will be staying in the charming medieval village of Portico di Romagna, a beautiful and peaceful location in the Apennines on the Pilgrim Route of St Francis with no cars, no noise, no pollution – a perfect place to rest and reconnect to our hearts. In this magical place where Dante famously met his divine inspiration, Beatrice, we will explore what love means in our own lives.
At this time of great change, how can we, as men and women, find each other in healthy relationship? Can an old folk tale help us navigate the landscape of our own hearts and lived experience? What is our deepest love? What is the connection we long for?
Working with a folk tale, we will look at these themes through storytelling exercises, games, constellation work, rituals and walks in nature. Chats by the fireside, gourmet Italian food and magic will pepper our time together. This is a weekend to nourish ourselves and to deeply savour the joy of being alive.
Suitable for singles or couples of any orientation. No storytelling experience required.

Love’s Garment – The Storytellers
Stella Kassimati is an experienced facilitator of workshops. She teaches around the world in both Greek and English, including at The International School of Storytelling and Schumacher College, UK. Stella loves Greek myths and offers workshops on how relevant they are to us today. She has a deep passion for biographical storytelling, with an emphasis on ancestry stories. She has co-developed a successful program called “Gifts from our Ancestors”, enabling adults to craft and publicly perform family tales with the goal of increasing empathy and creating community. She loves teaching the craft of the storyteller because it gives people a voice and empowers them to bring more of themselves into the world.
Pelin Turgut was a writer for publications such as TIME magazine and The Independent and co-founder of the Istanbul International Independent Film Festival before training with The International School of Storytelling. She works with adults of all backgrounds drawing on stories to enable a felt sense of the mythic nature of a human life. She has a particular interest in the richness of ancestor stories; her own background is Turkish-British and her grandparents came from a vast and varied geography. She is trained in family constellation and Systemic Ritual, approaches that see the individual as part of a larger family of relations.
